Easy: Main Tenu Samjhawan Ki Chords with Strumming Pattern

One of the most celebrated and recreated love songs of all time is this masterpiece Main Tainu Samjhhawan ki. This song is the love song of this century. Originally sung by Rahat Fateh ali Khan for a Punjabi film named Virsa, the song was recreated by Sharib- Toshi for Humpty Sharma ki Dulhaniya and released in 2014. The recreated version was sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal. The same song has a revisited reprised version sung by Alia Bhatt in the movie. Also, this song has been sung by Atif Aslam as well and released as a single.Samjhawan has been the most popular song for a lot of reasons. Falling under the Punjabi folk genre, the song is a soulful rendition. Where as Rahat Fateh ali Khan sings with his classically enriched voice , Arijit Singh as usual creates his magic with his velvety and groovy voice. The song in the recreated Bollywood version uses different lyrics as well. While Rahat sings it with a classical touch and a slow rhythm, the Bollywood version is a fast rhythmic melody with a swaying tune and a feet tapping beat. Shreya Ghoshal’s melifluous voice makes the song very appealing. In the Hindi version, the song opens with an Alap of the piano and the mouth organ that is very endearing to the listener. The lyrics express a lot of emotions as they showcase the feelings of the smitten couple who are head over heels in love with each other and cannot survive without one another. The lover implores his beloved to understand his love for her as she is unaware of its intensity and he waits for her to acknowledge the love. The lyrics as reformed by Ahmed Anees and Kumaar beautifully craft the unsaid words of the lover who is under the spell of his lady while also focusing on the girl’s emotions who reciprocates to this love with the same intensity. Shreya’s sweet voice and Arijit’s deep voice cast a spell over the listeners thus addicting them to the song. The song has been covered by a lot of musicians as the beats are easy to catch and the chords are not much difficult. Sharib and Toshi have done a commendable job in this composition and the song is very soothing and pleasing to the ears.

More About this Song: The original version should also be mentioned in this context as that song itself has a charm of its own. The Punjabi song begins with the strumming of the guitar and the piano with a slower rhythm and a classical tone. The original song and the recreated songs both are different from each other as the original version has a lot of musical interludes in between the verses . The recreated version adds a twist to the original one by focusing more on the vocals. The Bollywood version spans for about 4 minutes and 27 seconds. In this duration it touches the right chords of the heart by its soulful nature and also the intensely romantic and emotional lyrics. The exact emotions, those pent up feelings, the helplessness to demonstrate the love has been beautifully showcased and it is for this reason that the song has won many accolades and awards. It is one of the best love songs composed indeed, and due credit should be given to the music directors, the lyricists and the singers for creating such an enchanting song.
