This track is one of the most laid-back romantic songs I have heard in quite some time, the beats are simple and relaxed and so is the melody, with not too many variations in the song or a beat change, it’s smooth, flowy and easy going. With a catchy chorus and a few light verses and a simple rhythm, this song does what it is supposed to do, which is make the listener have a good time listening to it. Rochak Kohli’s compositions usually have a lot of subtlety to them, it’s not robust rather very airy, and the compositions never overwhelm the listener which is very rare to find in Music Composers these days. The voice of Arijit Singh is fitting for this kind of harmony, not too corrosive and harsh yet controlled and breezy on the notes. There comes a section where the singer switches to whistling in the song, which I believe gives the song a good, simple twist with not a heavy tempo or scale change, which proves that you don’t need to do anything dramatic to make the song unique, smaller and unconscious changes in a song are what vibe with the audience The reason why this song works is because the lyrics are written also by keeping the melody in mind; they lyrics are soft and not have the listeners take two or three listens to identify the meaning of what the song wants to tell us. There is an elevation from the middle of the song that just keeps going up and up and doesn’t drop down, thus holding onto its rhythm. There is a unique sound to a very generic over-all theme of the song; the acoustics blend in together with the harmony, making it a happy listen for us. The instrumentals are used with love and care, they are not at all choppy and tearing through the music or overpowering any aspects of the musical. Moreover, this song is a very easy song to sing and play for all the music lovers of our generation; it won’t take you a long time to get a hang of the mood of the artists and makers of the song. . I could imagine this song being played in cars on radios and people giving it a listen, bopping their heads to it, or someone strolling around in the mall, and enjoying the overall feel of the track because it’s very mellow and rich and thus becoming a very happy song.
