Got My Name Changed Back Guitar Chords | Who knew three super successful country artists could make a song as sassy as this one; Got My Name Changed by Pistol Annies, a trio comprising of Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe, and Angaleena Presley. This track is the definition of an eclectic music that gets you on your feet (in fact gets you stomping) , making the listener feel as if they are in a concert. It’s downright peppy, fun and mischievous.

Now, the biggest faulting issue with this song is that the tune is highly predictable; after the two verses it comes off as a little repetitive. People who might not have heard about Pitol Annies might feel like the song is fresh and new, and would dig this song just for the outstanding vocal delivery (of Miranda Lambert) and the addictive melody of it. But, the pure country music lovers, would be quite critical because the lyrics are as bland as they are sharp, there is not a lot of depth and really doesn’t make the listener “think”, it is almost like a feel good song, and the only emotion the listener feels is that of pure vengeance, which is not wrong or distasteful but definitely not “country” per se.

Midway through the song and you already get the gist of what the song wants to give away and the listener might not even feel like fully listening to it but hat saves it are the lyrics; they are extremely crisp, and the shade that is thrown one after the other at her then beau, who is a fellow country artist, Blake Shelton, and his failing relationship with Miranda Lambert, his other lovers and much more is downright fun, entertaining and gives out a few giggles in between.

Now, of course, there is a summer country beat to it, but it would be safe to say that they could focus more on the symphonious aspect, rather than focusing just on the lyrical aspects and turning this catchy song into a diss track. Also addressing the fact that Pistol Annies has the 3 greatest female country singers, but this song felt like besides Miranda Lambert, the other two artists were just backing vocals. The song could’ve reached on an even greater height in terms of vocal competency and sound dynamics, but it was as if Ashley Monroe and Angaleena were just there to harmonize and not “sing”.

In terms of the instruments used, even though this song has a slight hint of “pop” into it due to the use of an electric guitar; the rhythm, the melody and the beats definitely don’t lose the country touch to this track. And also, the fact that they have not lost the traditional country music feel to it, and haven’t let go of their roots, which comes off as a great relief to all the country music lovers. All in all, maybe this might not be a fan favorite and definitely not what we could call a ‘modern classic’, but, in terms of today’s day and age this music is cute, cheeky and groovy.
