More About the Song: Chhapaak is an intensely heart rendering track. Every year thousands of girls face the brunt of acid attacks. There are men who do not know how to respect women and these cowards turn to the use of acids thinking that they have ruined the girl’s life. These atrocious crimes have to be eradicated from the society and those indulging in such heinous and brutal offences should be severely punished and ousted from the society. Chhapaak is a song for all those warrior women out there whose faces may have been destroyed but not their will and spirit. Chhapaak is a shout out to all those acid attack survivors who are fighting this evil every day. The lyrics are an eye-opener and are indeed too emotional and heart wrenching. Gulzar has done an immensely commendable job. Shankar Ehsaan and Loy once again have showed us their genius and with the use of flutes, guitars and rhubarb/ oodh have created an enchanting melody. Arijit Singh has kept us spell bound by his stellar performance. Chhapaak is a song for all the fighters. It is a song for all those people who have been tortured by goons. May God give more power to these beautiful souls.
